El Reno’s Brianna Vickers Athlete Spotlight Presented by Jim Eischen Shelter Insurance

Brianna Vickers

El Reno High School

Brianna Vickers is a senior at El Reno High School and a member of the varsity soccer team. Vickers admits she wears many hats when it comes to where she plays on the field, but regardless of her position, Vickers said the team is focused and improving.

“My positions are sort of complicated because I play multiple. Usually, I usually play keeper, but I also play as a middle mid or outside mid. Based on the practices we’ve had so far, I can see that we’ve improved a bunch. I don’t think our team has looked this put together in a while,” said Vickers.

The senior continues to work on her game to help the team be successful.

“The most improved part of my game play is definitely my ability to talk to others and show up for my team. I have noticed that the physical part of soccer for me has improved,” said Vickers. “Something I love the most about my teammates is how much fun we have as a team. We all work together well and there’s never a time when someone is undependable. The team as well as the coaches are always there when someone needs it.”

Being a student-athlete at El Reno High School is special for the senior in her final year of prep athletics.

“Being an El Reno student-athlete means a lot to me in ways I can’t explain. I love being a part of this community because it’s a small town and a small athletic community that I know myself as well as others want to show the world our potential. I want to provide an insight on our athletic future and show that even in a small town you can be up in the greater heights of the world,” said Vickers.

The goal this season is to win district and make post season play.

“My goal for this season is to finish the year as the champions for our district. This is my last season playing on this team so I would also like to earn a soccer scholarship for any college team,” said Vickers.

Vickers is involved in National Honor Society, band, and leadership. Her favorite subject is AP Calculus, and she would like to pursue a career in mechanical engineering.
