2024-2025 El Reno Indians Basketball – Presented by Jim Eischen – Shelter Insurance

Coach: Rodney Haydon

23-24 Record: 20-8

OUTLOOK

A quick glance at El Reno’s lineup entering the new season might have you thinking they have a few holes to fill, but upon further inspection, this team has the players to make this season another 20-plus win year and they could rattle some cages in post season play. Head coach Rodney Haydon breaks it down.

“With two returning starters and the addition of getting a couple players back who started for us a freshman that both averaged double digits we should have a competitive team each night and help our depth. With juniors Kason Haydon and Gabe Osburn who have experience and varsity minutes our depth should be one of our strengths to make a run into the state tournament. With a lot of veteran leadership and lots of experience in our lineup we are looking to make a run in the 2024-25 season,” said coach Haydon.

Returning to the floor is Carter RomanNose (6-3, Sr.) at guard. RomanNose has been one of the go-to players in the El Reno lineup and is expected to have another solid year in his final season of prep basketball. Tre Davis (6-7, Sr.) started for El Reno as a freshman and is now a senior. Davis spent the last two seasons at Enid, after his father took the head coaching job there, but he has made his return to El Reno, and he is looking forward to getting back on the court for the Indians. Davis is a double-double guy that can dominate the paint.

Alex Elizondo (6-0, Sr.) and Jonathon Reed (6-0, Sr.) are both back at guard giving the Indians two athletic players who can play good defense and help this team in many ways. Also look for Bradley Island (5-8, Jr.) at guard. Island brings depth to the position and gives coach Haydon another option in the backcourt. Kason Haydon (6-2, Jr.) played some quality minutes as a sophomore and is expected to help the team in rebounding and bring some length and athleticism on the defensive end of the court. Haydon should be a key figure in the transition game for El Reno.

Other players to watch include Gabe Osburn (5-11, Jr.) at guard, Jacob Nichols (6-0, So.) at guard, and Jacob Smith (6-1, Sr.) at forward.
