2024-2025 Yukon Millers Boys Basketball – Presented by Roger Karns – Michael Snodgrass – Shelter Insurance

Coach: Ja’Ron Jefferson

23-24 Record: 9-16

OUTLOOK

It’s a new era for Miller basketball as Ja’Ron Jefferson takes over the program after leading Putnam City West to the 2024 Class 6A state championship. Coach Jefferson wants to bring a fast-paced offense and a disciplined defense.

“With only two returning varsity starters, the Millers are competing for varsity spots and playing time. #WorkIsTheOnlyWay is what the coaching staff leans on to help these young students-athletes reach their goals on as well as off the court,” said coach Jefferson.

Improving individual skills and team defense is the focus, but coach Jefferson recognized players like Bo Barber (6-6, So.) is a player capable of playing all five positions on the court.

“Bo is very long and athletic. Able to score on all three levels,” said Jefferson.

Drew Reynolds brings one of the purest jump shots to the court and one that coach Jefferson said is “one of the best I’ve seen in high school.” Reynolds has improved his ball handling skills and has developed into a vocal leader on both ends of the court.

Also look for Tony Jeffries, a player who is a matchup nightmare for opponents.

“Tony provides matchup problems on the offensive end. Capable of playing with his back to the basket or step out beyond the arc,” said Jefferson.

Overall the team will need some younger players to step up and fill in when needed. If coach Jefferson gets the players to totally buy in to the program, the Millers will be a force to deal with in Class 6A as they get this ship pointed in the right direction.
