VYPE: What goals do you have for this year in baseball?

Braden Dougherty: One of my goals this year is to have a sub 2.00 ERA on the season and another goal is to allow zero walks a game. A goal I have for the team is to win a state championship.

VYPE: What has baseball taught you that you use in your daily life?

BD: One thing baseball has taught me in my life is that not everything can go your way so you have to find a way to keep going.

VYPE: What’s your favorite bat/glove to use?

BD: My favorite glove to use is my Wilson A2K.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

BD: One person who inspires me is Tim Tebow because of how hard he works in everything that he does and he is always trying to help other people so I try to be like him every day.

VYPE: What do you think is the biggest challenge in baseball?

BD: I think the mental part of baseball is the hardest part because there are so many highs and lows during a game and most of the time it is a low and you have to be able to stay competing even while you’re in the low.

VYPE: What do you think makes a great baseball player?

BD: I think someone who can stay mentally composed no matter what is happening is someone that makes a great baseball player.

VYPE: Who in your family is the best athlete? Explain.

BD: I would say the person in my family that is the best athlete is my cousin, Chance Key, because he is a D1 pitcher at Grand Canyon University.

VYPE: What’s one sport you wish you could play that you don’t already play?

BD: One sport that I wish I could play that I don’t is football because it has always looked fun to play.
