Mustang’s Izzie Jones – Cheer Spotlight – Presented by Aaron Ruiz Shelter Insurance

It’s been a long and fun journey for Mustang High School’s Izzie Jones. Now a senior in high school, Jones started cheering when she was four years old and has made a lifetime of memories with friends, teammates and classmates.

“My favorite memory from Mustang cheer has to be winning regionals and getting runner-up at state. It was such an unreal feeling for me and my teammates,” said Jones.

Her strengths as a cheerleader include her knowledge of the sport and the positive outlook she brings to the cheer room, the sidelines and to competition. Jones gives credit to her fellow seniors for their hard work and willingness to help.

“The seniors with me have made a huge impact on my life. Not only are they some of the best teammates they are also my best friends. No matter what, they will always be there when I need something and sticking together all four years is truly one of the best thing that has happen to me,” said Jones.

Jones said there is never a dull moment with her teammates at MHS.

“What I love most about my teammates is that we are all best friends. There is seriously never a dull moment with this team we are always laughing and having a good time and something crazy is always going on,” Jones said. “Being a student-athlete at MHS has shown me sportsmanship, leadership, and lots of dedication.”

When her days at MHS come to an end, Jones said she plans to attend college at Oklahoma State University.
