At Piedmont High School, senior lineman Scott Logan is known for his no-nonsense focus on game day. Having played since 5th grade, he now holds down the left guard position with pride and purpose.
“I’ve definitely improved this season,” he says. “It’s been about working at my craft and focusing on drills.”
Before each game, he sticks to his own routine. With headphones in and conversation out, Logan tunes everything out and locks in. The music drowns out the noise, the nerves, and the pressure, leaving only focus. The Piedmont football culture stands out to him. More than a winning score, football is about fight, family, and perseverance.
“The culture is so big here,” says Logan. “We just don’t give up on each other.”
As for never giving up, Logan’s approach is a classic example. After dislocating his kneecap and spraining every ligament in his knee, he returned to the field a week into rehab, showing that mental toughness is what separates good players from great ones.

“It was worth it,” he reflects. “I got to play football.”
When given the choice to rest or rise, Logan chose the latter. That resilience is what defines him, and without the support of his dad, he wouldn’t be where he is today. His constant motivator, Logan’s dad has always been in his corner, celebrating the wins and helping him grow through the losses with honest feedback and tough love.
“My dad has been there for me through it all,” shares Logan. “He’s my biggest fan, but also my biggest critic.”
When asked what the scoreboard could never show, he doesn’t hesitate.
“It could never reflect the fight we gave until the final buzz.”
For Logan and the Wildcats, the heart behind every snap, the grit behind every fourth-quarter play, and the refusal to quit no matter the odds capture the identity of the team. His blue-collar attitude mirrors that identity, forged on hard work, quiet strength, and unfailing commitment.
“Giving up isn’t an option,” he says. “Go all the way or you’re only hurting yourself and your teammates.”
Off the field, he is just as competitive. He participates in track and field, where he throws the shot put, a discipline that much like football demands power, precision, and relentless effort. No matter if it’s in the weight room, on the track, or on the line of scrimmage, Logan is always focused on elevating his performance. As he approaches the final year of high school, he will carry his all-in mentality with him into college, where he plans to continue playing football, taking everything he has built at Piedmont to the next stage.
Logan embodies everything Piedmont football stands for. While not defined by the plays he makes or the position he plays, his work ethic, resilience, and attitude fuel the culture of the team and reflect the standards to which he holds himself.
