Mya Alston of Mustang High School is the next participant in VYPE’s 9 Questions. We caught up with Alston between holidays.
VYPE: Mya, thanks for taking some time to answer our 9 questions. First, what has the first few games of the season been like for the team?
Alston: We had a rocky start but we’re starting to overcome it and we’re looking good.
VYPE: What part of your game would you say is most-improved this season?
Alston: I would say my energy on the court improved a lot from last year.
VYPE: What grade are you in this season and how long have you played basketball?
Alston: I’m a sophomore and I’ve been playing since 5th grade.
VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a student-athlete at Mustang High School?
Alston: I love a reason to get out of class. I also love my teammates and coaches
VYPE: Tell me about your teammates. What do you love most about this group?
Alston: I love how they always spread positivity and root for other people’s success.
VYPE: You said you’ll take any reason to get out of class, but do you have a favorite class or teacher?
Alston: My favorite subject is math because it comes easy to me and my favorite teacher is my old English teacher, Mr. Funk.
VYPE: What’s the goal for this season?
Alston: Win state.
VYPE: What would you like to do after you graduate high school?
Alston: I’m in between being a real estate agent, news anchor, and model.
VYPE: When you have some free time, how do you like to spend it?
Alston: I love shopping and hanging out with my friends and family.
