Q&A with Yukon’s Alix Regier – Presented By Roger Karns – Shelter Insurance

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?

Alix: I am passionate about soccer because I have always loved playing the sport and getting better at it throughout my life. I love all the lessons it teaches you and everything I learn from my coaches and teammates.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

Alix: That would be Rylee McLanahan. I played club soccer with her and she is just the most determined and passionate player. She is amazing at soccer and will do so many great things. I love her so much and am so grateful to know her and to have played with her.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?

Alix: My favorite teacher is my sophomore year Algebra II teacher, Mr. Boyd. He is my favorite teacher because he cares about all of his students and their success not only in his class but in their own personal lives. He also has the best jokes.

VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?

Alix: Soccer has taught me about leadership, determination, and having an organized life in general. Soccer takes up a huge part of my life so time management is very important. It has also taught me how to persevere through difficult times, not everything will be easy in life and you must be willing to work hard to accomplish your goals.

VYPE: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?

Alix: My dad has told me my entire life that the most important thing is to love and the second most important thing is to learn. I think no matter what you are doing those things are very important and will lead to a happy and successful life. I love my dad so much and am very grateful that he taught me those things.

VYPE: Who inspires you and why?

Alix: My biggest inspiration is Jesus Christ. I want to love and live like Him, by putting others before myself. I am so grateful for my savior and I want to glorify Him with my life.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into playing your sport?

Alix: I started playing soccer when I was just three years old. My parents put me in it and I have stuck with it and loved it ever since. My dad was a great soccer player and it is nice to bond over something we both love to do.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?

Alix: If I could go anywhere for summer vacation I would go to Greece and I would go with my family and my best friends, Gillian, Marlee, and Victoria.

VYPE: Here is your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.

Alix: I would like to thank both of my parents for giving me such an amazing life and loving and supporting me throughout it all. They both would do anything for me and they are the best parents I could ever ask for.
