El Reno High School’s Brantlie Charmasson – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Jim Eischen, Shelter Insurance

Brantlie Charmasson – El Reno HS

The El Reno High School volleyball team has high expectations for this season and junior Brantlie Charmasson is helping lead the way from her middle blocker/hitter position.

“I’m so excited for this season because I know what our potential is. The El Reno volleyball team has never had the level of dedication and talent that it does this year, and we are already seeing the results. I expect us to continue winning the games that we never could have before, and to keep growing as players and people,” said Charmasson.

Her passion for the team and her teammates is obvious when you watch them play.

“I love how my team never fails to lift each other up. I feel like we’re always there for each other, whether it is on or off the court, which is something not a lot of other schools have. I can always count on my teammates to lift me up whenever I’m down or in my head during a game,” Charmasson said. “It’s my job to try to stop the other team from hitting the ball over the net, as well as to attack the ball and put it in places where the other team’s defense isn’t.”

Charmasson said her parents have been a big influence in her life.

“They inspire me to be strong, and to always put forth my best effort. My parents can push through anything, and I hope to one day be able to do the same.”

The junior is involved in FFA, FCA and BlueStem.

“Some of my best friends are in FFA, and I’ve met so many amazing people through the organization. FCA is also a really important part of my life. It’s so important to include God in every part of our day—especially school. FCA provides me with a safe place to set aside time for God every month and to reset my focus on what truly matters. BlueSTEM, my agricultural research group, has taught me how important the application of STEM is to agriculture. It’s also pushed me to get involved in the ongoing research of how to restore our planet’s ecosystems.

After high school, Charmasson plans on going to college.

“Though I’m not quite sure where yet. I do know that I would love to study biology, animal science, and genetics. I also hope to continue playing volleyball, even if it’s just for fun,” said Charmasson.
