El Reno’s Ty Vincent – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Jim Eischen-Shelter Insurance

Role models can play an important role in the lives of high school athletes. Whether it is being an example of how to play the game, how to be a good teammate, or something else, the impact that they have can be immeasurable. El Reno’s Ty Vincent has a couple of people that have been influential in his life and helped him become who he is today.

“My biggest role model is my dad,” he said. “He is one of the hardest-working people I know and I appreciate all he has done. Also, Denis Seewald because he showed me the importance of how physics affects our everyday lives, including baseball.”

In his senior year at El Reno High School, Ty plays outfield, second base, and pitcher for the Indians’ baseball team.

Vincent has invested a lot so that he can be a successful baseball player, and he says that you have to work if you want the reward.

“It has taken a lot of dedication, practice, and always trying my best,” he said. “The biggest motivation I have is that I want to be the best that I can be and that is what keeps me going.”

Keith Hill is the head coach of the Indians’ baseball team and he says that Ty is a huge asset to the team.
“Ty is such a great teammate, he will do anything for his team, and would never ask for anything in return,” coach Hill said. “He is always encouraging his teammates, shows up with a positive attitude every day, practices hard, and does all the extra and little things without being asked. He is a ‘yes sir’, ‘no sir’ kind of kid, and is a quiet person by nature, but his attitude and actions speak volumes as he is a program guy and will do anything to improve himself or his teammates.”

There have been numerous memories that Vincent has made over his baseball career, but he has a couple that stands out at the top of the list.

“I think my highlight moment would have to be pitching five shutout innings in regionals,” he recalled. “That was a great feeling and a great accomplishment.”
