MUSTANG BRONCOS

BOYS

Coach: Scott Hodges

22-23 Record: 14-13

Fourth-year Mustang head coach Scott Hodges expects his product on the floor to impress Bronco basketball supporters. He has both seasoned veterans and talented newcomers expecting to play important minutes. “We are a talented team and expect to be very competitive this season,” Hodges said. “We have a good mix of experience and talented young guys. We will play hard and together. It will be a fun group to watch.” Roman Miller (6-4, Jr.), who averaged 16.0 points a night as a sophomore in a grueling Central Oklahoma Athletic Conference schedule, will be one of the most explosive scorers in the area again this year. The Drive Nation EYBL product has drawn interest from Oklahoma State, among others, and received a practice visit from OSU assistant Keiton Page in September. “Roman averaged 16 PPG in probably the toughest conference in the state. He has grown and gotten better and will have a great junior season for us,” Hodges said. Senior Cole Clipson (6-6, Sr.) adds crucial veteran presence and size to Hodges’ lineup. “He’s a leader and does a lot of little things for us that impact winning.” Though his last name isn’t unfamiliar around Mustang, Broncos fans should get to know the name Tyson Pogi (5-10, Fr.) and his game. “Tyson will be a freshman this year. He is one of the best players in his class in the state,” Hodges said. The Broncos will open at Capitol Hill on Tuesday, Nov. 28. They’ll have a tough tournament schedule, going through Bishop Kelly on Dec. 7-9, the Bank 7 Holiday Classic on Dec. 28-30 and the Shawnee Tournament on Jan. 18-20.
