
VYPE: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
Mason: It has taught me the importance of patients, trusting the process, and how it takes time to get better.
VYPE: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
Mason: Having friends that have the same interest as you and are passionate about your sport.
VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Mason: Swimming is a very self-motivated sport. You get out of it what you put into it.
VYPE: Who inspires you and why?
Mason: Coach K from Mustang High School. He pushes us to be our best but also cares about us as people not just swimmers.
VYPE: What has been your favorite memory of playing?
Mason: My first high school swim meets was the first race of my high school career. I broke the 200-freestyle school record and the celebration from the team was incredible.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Mason: Ms. Jeni, was my pre-K teacher and made me like school.
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation, where do you go and who do you take with you?
Mason: I would go to Alaska and take my immediate family and my grandparents.
VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Mason: A T-bone steak with a baked potato from Cattleman’s Steakhouse in Oklahoma City.
