9 Questions With Mustang’s Noah Thayer – Presented By Excel Therapy

VYPE: What has running taught you that you use in your daily life?
Noah: Running has taught me to set goals. It has also taught me patience. Not everyone has everyday goals but small goals can sometimes even make big impacts with a little patience.

VYPE: When and how did you first get into track and cross country?
Noah: I first got into to running when I was in kindergarten. I didn’t really know running was a sport, but I liked it. I came to like it in PE in elementary. They’d make us run a lap and I’d always run 2-4 even though we only had to run one. Another way I began to like running was the pacer test. I’d always end up scoring higher than anyone in the school even at a young age and I believe I still hold the school pacer test record to this day.

VYPE: Why are you passionate about your sport?
Noah: I am passionate about running because not everyone likes running and I like it a lot. I like the fact I can set goals and when I accomplish them it feels great.

VYPE: What is your favorite memory from a competition?
Noah: My favorite memory from running was NXR. I was trampled. Which is funny, not going to lie, so you can laugh. It just showed me I can still do well regardless of being sick, my shoe falling off, or getting trampled. There are no excuses.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Noah: Dylan. He has motivated me and has been the kindest to me. He has also set goals for me even when I didn’t want to. I’d like to thank him for what he’s done.

VYPE: Which athlete do you look up to and why?
Noah: Eliud Kipchoge. He is the greatest marathoner and he inspires me to be great.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
Noah: Mrs. Roush, she helped me push myself which started my passion for running in the pacer test.

VYPE: What is your all-time favorite meal?
Noah: My all-time favorite meal is chicken and waffles with fruit, a parfait, and some cinnamon brown sugar oatmeal.

VYPE: Here’s your chance to give a shoutout or say thank you to anyone you wish.
Noah: I’d like to shout out my friends and family. My dad and mom inspire me and are my biggest fans. They push me and help me get better. I also want to shout out my girlfriend. She has motivated me and pushed me through hard times and looked out for me so shoutout to Kaileigh, who is also an athlete.
