The 2025 Oklahoma high school football season is nearing its midway point, and several outstanding players have emerged. VYPE reached out to coaches across the state, and we’ve compiled a list of players to watch below.

Cooper McCord – Adair

Cooper is the leader of our team, playing quarterback and middle linebacker. He has had a good start offensively with 718 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, and he added 250 yards rushing and four touchdowns. McCord also had 23 tackles on defense. 

Ryan Wilson – Adair

Ryan plays wide receiver and free safety for us. He missed his junior year with a season-ending injury in the first game after a breakout sophomore year. He is our leader by example and an outstanding athlete. He has 12 catches for 331 yards and six touchdowns. He also has 33 tackles and three interceptions. 

Quintin Box – Allen

Box does it all for the Allen Mustangs. Plays quarterback, safety, punter, punt returner, kick returner, and is also on kickoff. He literally never comes off the field.  He has rushed 49 times for 303 yards and three touchdowns, while completing 11 of 22 passes for 237 yards and five touchdowns. 

Jeymon Reed – Altus

The freshman has completed 66% of his passes for 860 yards and six touchdowns. Reed also has 25 rushes for 144 yards and three more touchdowns.

Jamele Alexander – Altus

Alexander has had a solid start to his senior season. He has 30 receptions for 427 yards and three touchdowns.

Tyson Laster – Ardmore

Tyson is a great football player and a leader in our locker room and school. He starts at cornerback on defense and usually covers the opposing team’s best receiver. He also starts at running back and usually carries the ball 15 to 20 times every Friday night. Tyson comes from a great family and has been an absolute pleasure to coach and be around.

Jacoby Jefferson – Ardmore

Jacoby is a strong right tackle for the Ardmore Tigers. He’s had a great start to the year and is grading out really well every ballgame. Jacoby has the size and athleticism to play college football, and he seems to be getting better every ballgame.

Scout Smith – Arkoma

Smith has carried the ball 24 times for 206 yards and five scores. He has also caught 12 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he has 23 tackles and six interceptions. 

Alex Armstrong – Arkoma

At quarterback, Alex has completed 21 of 42 passes for 314 yards and four touchdowns. He also added 293 yards on the ground and two more touchdowns. On defense, he has registered 19 tackles.

Aiden Martin – Berryhill

Big and athletic offensive tackle. He is one of the best offensive linemen in the state. Great football player with a great attitude. He is a hard worker and a team leader. He will be playing Division 1 football when he decides where that will be. Feel really blessed to have a player who has the physical ability, along with the work ethic, to be as good as he can be.

Braden Schwickerath – Berryhill

Very athletic and explosive. Plays outside linebacker and is a dominating player. Has a great work ethic and is a great student athlete. One of the hardest workers on our team. He has also had college offers and is going to have the opportunity to play football at the next level. Braden will do whatever it takes to help his team and is one of the players who leads by example.

Luke Quinter – Bethel

Through three games, Luke has run for 435 yards on 59 carries and five touchdowns.  Defensively, he has 34 tackles and two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown), one fumble caused, and one fumble recovered.  He has been a four-year starter for us at linebacker on defense and has played offense all four years at running back.

Maddox Davis – Bethel

Maddox has thrown the ball 76 times and completed 43 passes for 866 yards and 13 touchdowns in the young season to go along with only two interceptions.  He also had a huge interception for us on defense against Luther in week one.  He has started every game since Week 10 of his freshman year at quarterback.

Saben Batten – Blackwell

A versatile and dynamic athlete who excels at multiple positions, including running back, wide receiver, outside linebacker, strong safety, and kicker. He brings high effort every down, showcasing explosive playmaking ability, strong football IQ, and physical power. A confident and selfless teammate, he not only leads by example but also supports others by helping them learn their roles. His all-around impact makes him a valuable asset on both sides of the ball and special teams.

Carson Spencer – Blackwell

A dominant and versatile force in the trenches, this athlete brings elite physical ability and explosive power to every snap. With experience at nose guard, defensive tackle, and guard on the O-Line, he plays every down with relentless effort and intensity. His high football IQ and disciplined mindset allow him to read the game exceptionally well, while his strong leadership and willingness to support teammates make him an invaluable presence on and off the field. Confident in his abilities and committed to excellence, he sets the tone for his unit with strength, toughness, and accountability.

Mack Powell – Bristow

On the defensive side of the ball, Powell has 35 tackles, six tackles for loss, and two sacks. At running back, he has carried 36 times for 187 yards and three touchdowns.

Marley Branscum – Bristow

The senior plays nose tackle and offensive guard. So far this season, he has registered 28 pancake blocks on offense, while on defense, he has seven tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack. 

Semaj Stanford – Broken Arrow

Two-way player. Leads the team in tackles and is a difference maker on offense.

Noah Gillespie – Broken Arrow

Noah already has three picks this season and leads the team in pass breakups. He is a very talented corner.

Conner Quintero – Chisholm

Through three games, Conner has 967 yards passing and 12 touchdowns.

Cecil Garrett IV – Claremore

Cecil has 73 carries for 587 yards and six touchdowns.

Kellen Gaede – Claremore

He has accumulated 527 passing yards and eight touchdowns and also added in one rushing touchdown.

Cruze Bittle – Corn Bible Academy

Cruze is a fourth-year starter for the Crusaders, starting at linebacker and on the offensive line.

Brock Heilmann – Coweta

Brock is leading Class 5A in rushing with 545 yards on 82 carries. He has scored six total touchdowns this season, three on the ground and three through the air. He is the hardest-working player that I have ever coached.  Brock is also a 4.0 student. 

Aiven Robbins – Coweta

Aiven is our leading tackler with 29, and he also has two fumble recoveries, one fumble caused, and one interception.  He has been doing a tremendous job of leading our defense. 

Tucker Stover – Crescent

Junior quarterback and outside linebacker, a two-time captain, and was voted team MVP last year as a sophomore. Currently has 553 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and 191 rushing yards. On defense, he has 21 tackles and one sack.

Smith Gordon – Crescent

Gordon plays wide receiver and defensive back. He has 12 catches for 222 yards for five touchdowns. He added in two interceptions on defense.

Wyatt Dalton – Crossings Christian

Wyatt has started his junior season off with a bang. In the first three games, he has over 200 yards receiving, two receiving touchdowns, a punt return for a touchdown, a kick return for a touchdown, and 12 tackles to go along with a pass breakup on defense.

Ricklan Holmes – Del City

Ricklan has been dominant in all three phases of the game this year. He has 368 yards rushing and four touchdowns on offense. And he has 23 tackles and one sack defensively.

Kaleb Blackwolf – Del City

Blackwolf is our utility player. He has played running back, quarterback, and as a punt and kickoff returner. He had a great game against Booker T Washington, scoring five touchdowns. 

Baylor Bond – Dickson

Through 3 games, Bond has completed 55 of 94 passes for 1,026 yards and nine touchdowns with just three interceptions. He has also had ten carries for 55 yards and another score.

D’Eric Drain – Dickson

Drain has accumulated 563 total yards on offense with five touchdowns. On defense, he has 18 tackles, a fumble recovery, and a sack.

Kaidas Vick – Douglass

Vick is a sophomore and a team captain. He has a 4.0 GPA and is number one in his class. A great young man with an exceptional work ethic. While filling roles at running back, fullback, tight end, and defensive end, his sophomore campaign is off to a great start. He has racked up 269 yards rushing on 23 carries and eight touchdowns, one reception for 45 yards and a touchdown. On defense, he has five sacks, nine tackles for loss, two forced fumbles (recovering one), and a sack for a safety in 3 games. 

Zamarius Zeigler – Douglass

Zamarius is an all-purpose threat who plays running back, defensive back, punt returner, and kick returner. In the first three games, he is off to a great start. He has racked up 433 yards rushing on 42 carries for four touchdowns, one reception for 37 yards. As a returner, he has three kickoff returns for 94 yards, while on defense, he has four pass deflections. 

Jordan Kennedy – Edmond Santa Fe

Jordan is our quarterback and is having a good year.  Especially for it being his first year to start.  He is a super athletic and talented young man who is going to do nothing but get better as the season goes.

Trey Robinson – Edmond Santa Fe

Trey plays cornerback and running back for us, as well as all special teams. He is a super-talented kid who is playing at an extremely high level. Trey is a difference maker in all three phases of the game. He also leads the team in interceptions.

Ritson Meyer – Elgin

Meyer is a dynamic two-way player who has great contact balance, great hands, a big frame, and is elusive. So far this season, he has 57 carries for 403 yards and 11 touchdowns. He has also added a punt return for a touchdown, an interception, and two forced fumbles.

Blayden Neill – Eufaula

Blayden has been a dominant force for us on the defensive side. He has been battling up front and setting the edge at outside linebacker. He has 28 tackles through three games, and teams are starting to run away from him. Blayden is one of the strongest kids we have does not get moved. He takes on the pulls of guards and tackles and fullbacks and melts them at times.

Virgil Pendergraft – Foyil

Virgil has rushed for 320 yards and five touchdowns through 3 games, and also returned a kickoff for a touchdown and two punt returns for a touchdown. He has had 105 yards receiving as well, giving him an all-purpose yard total of 560 yards.

Cayden Ramsey – Garber

Sophomore Cayden has 15 receptions for 285 yards and three touchdowns. On defense, he has 30 tackles (20 solo), two tackles for loss, a sack, and six interceptions. Ramsey had a school record five interceptions against Depew.

Cord Southwick – Garber

A junior and team captain, Southwick has 40 rush attempts for 421 yards for five touchdowns, along with seven receptions for 99 yards and three scores.   On defense, he has 19 tackles (11 solo), seven tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks.

Roo Franklin – Healdton

Through 3 games, Roo has rushed for 528 yards on 51 carries for an average of over 10 yards per carry and 176 yards rushing per game. He has a total of six rushing touchdowns. In the passing game, he has six catches for 42 yards.

Jaybin Keener – Healdton

After 3 games, Jaybin has five interceptions and has been a lockdown safety in the secondary.

Matt Parker – Hollis

Parker is a junior who starts on both sides of the ball. This season, he has 312 rushing yards, 257 passing yards, and eight offensive touchdowns. On defense, he has 17 tackles and four interceptions, one of which was returned for a score.

Kreid McQueen – Hollis

He has 377 yards on 32 carries for six touchdowns so far this season.

Cody Botts – Hulbert

Cody plays on all sides of the ball. He is the leading rusher for our football team and is involved in our schemes on defense. He displays great leadership on and off the field.

Acyn Hansen – Jones

Acyn is the starting quarterback, and he has helped lead the team to its first 3-0 start since 2017.  He has passed for 566 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. Hansen also rushed for 263 yards and three scores. He is a dual-threat quarterback who propels our offense.

Luke DeBusk – Jones

Luke is a four-year starter at linebacker for the Longhorns.  He is on pace to be the all-time leading tackler at Jones. He has 32 tackles, four sacks, and a forced fumble. 

Zack Adams – Kansas

Zack is a great leader for our team and a guy all the players can look up to. He is a valuable piece to our team because of his versatility. He plays in all three phases for us and brings a consistent effort and positive attitude every day.

Tristan Thompson – Kansas

Tristan has a very bright future in the game of football. He is a solid offensive lineman for us who can absolutely take over a game. He is reliable in the pass game as far as protection is concerned, and we always believe he is going to win his match-up.

Ryder Davis – Keys

Davis is a sophomore quarterback who has rushed for 268 yards and two touchdowns, while also passing for 176 yards and three touchdowns.

Treveon Guthrie – Keys

Treveon has 201 all-purpose yards and two total touchdowns. On defense, he has 27 tackles, one pass breakup, and one forced fumble.

Chase Pirtle – Kremlin-Hillsdale

He is a senior who plays running back and middle linebacker. He is also a main target as a receiver. Chase has led the team in tackles, usually taking on double teams and having to sort through blockers to get his tackles. Chase has been a big threat receiving the ball deep, catching touchdowns, and deep passes. 

Tyler Smith – Kremlin-Hillsdale

Tyler is a junior who plays quarterback and safety. He is one to watch at quarterback as he is leading a young team. Tyler has a calm demeanor, which enables him to focus on the goal of making plays. He has many arm-angled throws at his disposal and is quite impressive with his accuracy.

Aivan Locklin – Lawton MacArthur

Aivan is a three-year starter and has ran for 198 yards and two touchdowns against Ponca City in week three. He also had over 100 passing yards.

Adam Auston – Lawton MacArthur

Adam is the starting safety and is committed to the University of Arkansas.  He has 27 tackles and four pass breakups, and he caused a fumble in overtime against Ponca City to secure the win.

Cadyn Krueger – Lexington 

He has rushed 52 times for 408 yards and five touchdowns. Cadyn has also completed 22 of 45 passes for 246 yards and two scores.

Austin Smith – Merritt

Austin is a senior linbacker and receiver who brings leadership and passion to the team. He is a tenacious linebacker who leads our defense with his athleticism and toughness.

Aaron Partain – Merritt

Aaron is our quarterback and he commands the offense with poise and resiliancy. Aaron’s ability to stay focused and calm through any situation is a true testament to his work and belief in his teammates. Aaron is an intelligent player with guts and determination who leads his team in every aspect of a on-field general.

AJ Russell – Minco

AJ has 10 tackles, two interceptions, and two defensive touchdowns so far this season. On offense, he has five receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown. He has had a big start to the season for us.

Tucker Meiwes – Minco

Tucker has anchored our defensive line with 14 tackles and three tackles for loss on the season. Offensively, he has five pancakes in the season.

Ben Kolar – Norman North

Ben is a two-way player for us at tight end and outside linebacker. He is also our starting punter. He is an outstanding player, 4.0 student, captain, and just a great young man. He has shown out in every game in all three phases.

John Paul Lundquist – Norman North

A young sophomore safety who is making a huge impact on the defense and special teams.

Carmello Williamson – Oaks Mission

His totals three games into the season: 63 carries for 633 yards and 11 touchdowns. He also has three punt returns for 135 yards and a score.

Ryder Waddell – Poteau High School

Ryder has four receptions for 48 yards and a touchdown on offense, while on defense, he has racked up 31 tackles, six tackles for loss, two sacks, and two fumble recoveries.

Sam Tecla – Poteau High School

At quarterback, Tecla has completed 60% of his passes for 373 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. He has also carried the ball for 181 yards and two scores.

Jackson Parks – Pryor

Parks plays wide receiver and outside linebacker. Through three games, he has seven receptions for 267 yards and three touchdowns. 

Braden Ward – Pryor

The senior quarterback has completed 42 of 59 passes for 798 yards and 11 touchdown with just one interception.

Terry Wilson – Putnam City North

He is an exceptional running back and defensive back who plays way bigger than his size. Wilson does all the right things on and off the field. He has great speed and cutting ability in the backfield. Also, huge in our return game.

Mason Jones – Putnam City North

Started off strong at quarterback, then he suffered a finger injury on throwing hand. If able to return, he could provide stability for our offense so we can move some people around to give us more depth in other skilled areas. 

Trenton Shamblin – Quinton

Trenton, a junior, is leading us in rushing and is second in tackles.

Brett Bray – Quinton

Junior quarterback and free safety, Bray is an explosive player.

Aiden Totani – Savanna

Aiden makes the 2025 Bulldogs go as our only junior.  Through three games, he has 70 rushes for 770 yards 12 touchdowns. He added eight completed passes for 229 yards and three scores, one punt for 39 yards, one kick return for 11 yards, and on punt return for 51 yards and a touchdown. On Defense, he leads our team with 24 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one sack, two forced fumbles, and two pass break ups. 

Cody Woods – Savanna

Cody is the vocal leader and heart and soul of our team.  This senior caught his first pass, a two-point conversion, in our game against Thackerville.  A six-foot-three, 215 pound lineman, Cody has 16 pancake blocks in three games.  On defense, he has 18 tackles, eight tackles for loss, five sacks, and one forced fumble.

Donavon Garfield – Seminole

Garfield has completed 32 of 48 passes for 719 yards and five scores. He also carried the ball 55 times for 430 yards and thirteen touchdowns.

Nehemiah Kolone – Stillwater 

Through three games against Union, Enid, and Carl Albert, Nehemiah has been a dominant defender on our defensive line who is constantly drawing a double team. His stats through three games are 15 tackles, nine tackles for loss, four sacks, and one fumble caused. He’s a great student with a 4.08 GPA. He’s committed to play football at BYU and will graduate early and enroll in January there in January.

Jakoby Petree – Stillwater 

Jakoby has 34 total tackles, six tackles for loss, and one interception so far this season. Jakoby is the leader of our defense. He’s a junior who has started for two years and is a guy who is around the ball all the time. He’s a good student with a 3.53 GPA and a great teammate.

Lincoln Hall – Stratford

Lincoln is a great leader on both sides of the ball for us. Through three games, he has 344 yards rushing with three touchdowns and also has 301 passing yards with three touchdowns. He also has 24 tackles and three interceptions defensively.

Gavin Green – Stratford

Gavin is the leader of our offensive and defensive lines. He has been our best player up front on both sides of the ball. Through three games, he has registered 30 tackles.

Maddax Mobly – Sulphur

Mobly has had a great start to the season with 238 rushing yards, 176 receiving yards, and five offensive touchdowns. He also added 32 tackles, two tackles for loss, two pass breakups, and one interception on defense.

Cruz Campbell – Tuttle

The senior quarterback has completed 67% of his passes for 749 yards for seven touchdowns and one interception. 

Shawn Rounsaville – Tuttle

Shawn plays running back and linebacker. The senior has 42 carries for 245 yards and seven touchdowns. On defense, he has 10 tackles, two tackles for loss, and one sack.

Peyton Stelling – Verdigris

Stelling has 513 rushing yards for the Cardinals with five touchdowns. He also has 140 receiving yards and two touchdowns. 

Logan Floyd – Vinita 

Logan is a defensive end with 18 tackles, five solo, 13 assists, and one sack. He is an athletic guy who is hard to block and is always around the ball.

Kolbe Bargas – Vinita

An inside linebacker, Bargas has 31 tackles, 13 solo, and 18 assists. He plays hard and is always around the ball and competes every play.

Noah Wald – Weatherford

Noah is a senior who is in his first year starting at quarterback for us. He has been a great leader and is off to a great start. So far this season, he has thrown for 229 yards and rushed for 228 yards. He also has eight rushing touchdowns.

Kalen Clift – Weatherford

Kalen is a player to keep your eye on. He is a sophomore linebacker who has played every snap of defense for us so far this season. He has a great feel for the game, especially for such a young player, and he plays with a high motor. Through three games, he has recorded 28 total tackles, five tackles for loss, and a sack.

Gunner Shelby – Webbers Falls

Gunner is a junior wide receiver and safety for us.  He has a high football IQ, good hands, and a knack for the ball.  On defense, he has great eye discipline, which helps him get his read and get downhill fast to stop the run or to drop into pass coverage to come up with timely interceptions. Through four games, Gunner has 18 receptions for 339 yards and three touchdowns.  On defense, he leads our team in tackles with 50 (16 Solo 34 Assist), two sacks, one tackle for loss, and three interceptions.

Brutus Robinson – Webbers Falls

Brutus, a junior, plays quarterback and safety. He is one tough competitor who knows how to win. Offensively, he’s getting better at staying in the pocket, reading defenses, and slinging it to our playmakers.  Defensively, he is good at getting downhill, stopping the ru,n as well as being in the right spot on pass routes.  Through 4 games, he is 36 of 65 with 654 yards passing, with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. He has run for 125 yards with five rushing touchdowns.  On defense, he has 32 tackles (11 solo and 21 assist).

Isaiah Drake – Weleetka

Drake has completed 36 of 52 passes for 708 yards and seven touchdowns. He has also rushed for 252 yards and three touchdowns. He has tallied 21 tackles and three turnovers forced.

Bryant Sites – Weleetka

He has 10 rushes for 161 yards and two touchdowns. Bryant also added 16 receptions for 498 yards and four touchdowns. On defense, he has 20 tackles.

Goob Kennedy – Woodland

Goob is an elite caliber inside linebacker who has 42 tackles through three games and two  forced fumbles. He will continue to lead our team as we get better each week.

Jaston Terry – Woodland

Jaston is a dynamic athlete for us who impacts the game in a variety of ways. He has 315 yards receiving through three games and 16 receptions. He also has 31 tackles defensively at free safety.

Cayden Carter – Yukon

Cayden has been the leader of our offensive line for a few years and is playing at a very high level so far.  He has been physically finishing blocks and paving the way for our running backs, where we have had a 100-yard rusher in every game.

Destry Lujan – Yukon

Destry has been the heart and soul of our program and is making great plays at both linebacker and running back.
