Yukon enters the 2026 season off a 6-6 campaign under head coach Brent Barnes, who is in his fourth year leading the program. Barnes says the Millers are “excited to build on momentum from last year” and notes they “have a lot of key contributors back and some new players that will be big time players for us.” With seven starters returning on each side of the ball, Yukon expects experience and depth to be strengths.
Offensively, Yukon bases out of 11 personnel in a multiple spread system but will also use 12 personnel, looking to “establish a run game and use play action to attack down the field” while retaining “the ability to play fast and use some air raid concepts.” Junior quarterback Zealand Danielson leads the unit after transferring from powerhouse Thompson (Alabama), bringing an “elite skill set” as a dual-threat with the “ability to be a top ranked QB in class and state.” His weapons include senior receiver Daniel Yebit, senior athlete Antawan Grayson, junior receiver Zayden Khalil and junior running back Prince Shelburn, with junior lineman Daniel Delgado anchoring the offensive front.
Defensively, Yukon will line up in a 3-4 multiple front designed to adjust to opponents while keeping playmakers free to run. Yebit doubles as a standout defensive back, while linebackers Connor Cannon and Brayden Holliday, along with defensive backs Tahir Neal, Trendon Turner and Wyatt Jones, give the Millers experience and versatility across the back seven. With seven returning starters, the defense aims to complement an explosive offense by limiting big plays and generating takeaways.
Barnes lists both Yebit and Danielson as Top 100 candidates and notes that Yebit already holds “15-plus Power 4 offers” and is a three-year starter at both receiver and defensive back. Yebit is a state-champion high jumper at 7-feet and the school-record long jumper at 24-10, and Barnes believes he is “capable of being 1,000 yard receiver and shut down corner,” praising his 6-foot-2, 190-pound frame, 79-inch wingspan and 4.48 speed. Danielson, with “5-plus Power 4 offers,” brings high-end talent at quarterback, while sophomore Landen Carter is an underclassman to watch after “consistently” being the best player on the field as a freshman and now expected to “play mostly WR as a sophomore.” Senior lineman Jagen Barrett is a dependable three-year starter and leadership council member who “works as hard as anybody around.”
