Sibling Spotlight with Yukon’s Allie & Alexis Trindle – Presented by BancFirst Yukon

One is a senior and one is a freshman, but they play for the same varsity soccer team at Yukon High School. Allie Trindle is a freshman in her first season of high school soccer, while Alexis is a senior and has played the game for 14 years.

It’s no surprise they can play the same position either.

“I play forward for both club and Yukon High School,” Allie said. “For my club team I play forward. I played forward my freshman year at Yukon but was moved to defense my sophomore year and have been there ever since,” Alexis said.

You might imagine it could be difficult with siblings playing on the same team, but these two have been teammates in life for years.

“I already had a built-in friend on the team and growing up I always watched her [Alexis] play and looked forward to playing with her in the dame team,” said Allie. Alexis said it’s a great opportunity. “It’s super cool to get the opportunity to play with my sister and especially with me being on defense, I can play through balks to her and watch her score.”

They have shared a lot of memorable moments together, even when one is there as a spectator.

“When I scored my first high school goal in pre-season against Edmond Memorial! Everyone ran up to me and cheered for me. It was just a really cool feeling and something I had never really felt before,” said Allie. Alexis added, “The 6A state semifinal game my sophomore year, I got fouled on our half of the pitch with :7 seconds left and we got a free kick and scored off of it with :1 second left in the game to tie it 1-1 to advance to OT against Jenks.”

Whatever the future holds for these two sisters, you can bet they will be there cheering on one another. Alexis plans to attend OSU and hopes to one day be a sideline reporter in the NFL, while Allie is focused on being a freshman and is looking forward to making her plans as she moves forward with her high school career.
