It’s been a fun year on the diamond for Yukon High School’s Maddie Ogle. A catcher for the Lady Millers softball team, Ogle said this group has developed some great chemistry.
“The Yukon softball team is looking very young but talented. This is my best group to work with yet. We have such great chemistry this year and gel together very well,” said Ogle.
Ogle is one of two seniors on the team this season, Brekyn Mortensen is the other. Ogle said the team is full of players who work hard and have a good time.
“All my teammates play a big role in my life! They all have different personalities that are amazing. I love each and every one of them,” said Ogle.
During her career at YHS, Ogle said she has enjoyed a lot of great moments on the field.
“My favorite memory is from my freshman year. My first ever at bat of our very first home game, I hit a home run first pitch! It was just such a core experience,” said Ogle.
As a student-athlete, Ogle is focused on her grades and is pushing herself to be prepared for college.
“My favorite subject in school is Human Anatomy and Physiology. My favorite teacher is coach Pearson,” Ogle said. “My goal for life after high school is to play college softball and achieve my dream of being a Trauma Nurse while working in the ER.”
For Ogle, YHS is a special place for many reasons.
“What makes YHS special as a student-athlete is the support we get from our fellow students and coaches,” said Ogle.
Over the years Ogle said she’s enjoyed playing in the Colorado tournaments and representing her school. The senior said she has received some great advice from a college coach.
“But my best advice to give to players… you are gonna have haters. Don’t let them get you down, just work harder to prove them wrong.” Ogle said she, “finds strength in God and lets him do is magic. All my faith is in Him!”
